What is CBD?
Curious about CBD? At Grown Here Farms, we're proud to offer high-quality CBD products that can enhance your well-being. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in hemp plants that interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system. As a result, CBD may promote relaxation, support joint and muscle function, and contribute to overall wellness. Explore our range of CBD products and experience the natural benefits for yourself.

HOW WE GROW
We focus on 6 key features in how we grow our flower to ensure that you are always getting a premium CBD flower with consistent potency.
01
Soil Microbiome
Just like humans have a gut microbiome, soil has a biome too in the rhizosphere, which is the area immediately surrounding and enclosed by the root system. It contains all of the nutrients, microscopic bugs, insects and fungi of the soil biome. The organisms in the rhizosphere support each other through the exchange of nutrients, exactly like our microbiome.
And plants communicate along the fungi networks in their rhizosphere with each other. Plants can warn others of danger, strong plants can feed weaker plants more nutrients and they form a symbiotic relationship, working as a unit, not just individual plants to protect and grow stronger.
Part of our growing methods includes using a mychorrizome solution as a nutrient for our plants. It enhances the mycellium network of the plants, allowing them to better communicate with each other, better absorb and utilize nutrients and water from the soil and increases the overall health of the plant network.
02
Cover Crops
The benefit of using cover crops in organic farming can’t be overstated. They reduce soil erosion, increase residue cover, increase water infiltration, increase soil organic carbon, improve soil physical properties/reduce soil compaction and improve field trafficability, recycle nutrients, fix nitrogen with legumes, improve weed control, beneficial insects, disease suppression and provide wildlife habitat and landscape aesthetics!
Cover crops protect soil aggregates from the impact of raindrops by reducing soil aggregate breakdown. By slowing down wind speeds at ground level and decreasing the velocity of water in runoff, cover crops greatly reduce wind and water erosion. Cover crops also increase mycorrhizal fungus activity promoting a symbiotic relationship with the plants’ roots with the soil for water and nutrient uptake.

Plant Talk
What is Plant Talk? It’s a fantastic protocol under the Bodytalk System specifically designed for plants. It uses the same core premises as the Bodytalk System which is a blend of western knowledge, Chinese medicine and quantum physics. It can be utilized to balance plants to their environment and ultimately facilitate their ability to self heal, thrive and adapt. We use these techniques in our fields to help plants that are struggling, to ensure the health, vitality and optimization of the crop and to help balance environmental factors that could be negatively influencing either the plants, soil or farm. Once a week, we connect in with the soil or the plants for a “check up” of sorts - to keep that vitality balanced and optimized.
04
Sound Frequencies
What is Sound Therapy? One of the laws of the universe is that everything vibrates - everything is vibration. And we can use vibration to increase or decrease our frequency. Like going from an elevated mood of love, joy, fun, ease or a dark mood of anger, bitterness, resentment, cynicism. By utilizing sound frequencies with our plants, we encourage a positive, high resonance frequency of our fields, farm and plants - we play high frequency sounds, prayers and positive healing music to our plants while they grow.
05
Harvest Method
This is one of the most important things we do. If you imagine a hemp plant, the branches at the top of the plant get the most light and mature the fastest, while the bottom branches get less light and mature more slowly. So, naturally because of this, most of the CBD potency gets concentrated in the top flowers. Most outdoor growers are harvesting the entire hemp plant at one time, so they cut down the stalk and hang the whole plant upside down to cure, meaning there is a lot of variability in potency. What we do is spot harvest only the branches of the plant that are mature and we leave the remainder of the plant in the field to continue to mature to the same level as the highest potency part of the plant. We go by hand and select the branches to harvest that are most mature. This means we spend 3 - 4 times as much time harvesting, but it also ensures we have consistent potency across our entire crop.
06
Desert Power
We're located at the tip of the Arizona desert in the south okanagan BC, which means we have extremely hot summers, dry and arid climate and very little rain and brings us consistent, high winds, year round. This combination of very dry climate and high wind means our plants get consistent air circulation and never have any issues with mould or mildew. Contrary to many other growers in Canada who always have issues with mould, we very luckily harness our climate to our advantage and have never had mould in our flower.
